2023-2024 Academic Year

AUN’s goals for the 2023-24 academic year included the projects listed below. For additional information or feedback, we encourage you to contact Marquetta Scott or Charnessa Warren.

  1. Physical Accessibility: Accessible Maps. Explore the feasibility of wayfinding services on our campus. Developing an integrated map that includes accessibility more broadly (physical accessibility, digital access, single user accessible restrooms, sharps containers, lactation rooms) and explore pilot locations to initiate this opportunity for our campus community.
  2. Training & Awareness: Faculty Training. Develop training modules in Workday for new or returning faculty.
  3. Training & Awareness: Disability Inclusion Toolkit training for all members of our campus community who are interested in individualized training or support for their respective departments. Interested departments should email accessuchicago@uchicago.edu.
  4. Policies & Practices: ADA Anniversary. AUN and the Center for Digital Accessibility are co-hosting a virtual adaptive yoga chair session to celebrate the anniversary of the ADA by offering an adaptive, chair-based yoga session to promote wellness and raise disability awareness at UChicago. This event will be held virtually on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
  5. Policies & Practices: National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). Back by popular demand—In honor of NDEAM, AUN will host a virtual adaptive, chair-based yoga session to promote wellness and raise disability awareness at UChicago. This event will be held virtually on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
